The Busy Life is slowing down

 Few and far between...
That has been my post timeline for a while now. The past 6 or 7 months have been busy and exciting for me. I have a new home (my first house), My puppy Tank almost like a child wanting constant attention and I started my own business with 2 of my friends.

                    Lets start with home ownership

It has been a lot of working getting my house finished and up to standards with maintenance here and there. Other than our basement that is unfinished we are done!
This is a really cool light fixture. I loved it, but the selling point for me was...
French Doors! Which I hope to one day build a deck off of. But for now, with the help of my mother, I have built these steps...
The house was completely repainted by me and some great friends and family who helped.
My mom nearly gave us all a heart attack, check it out.
Our living room turned out the best with a rich cherry and chocolate combo.

This is the foyer. The next couple pictures are also the living room, decorated from Halloween of course.
For our dining room we went with a deep royal blue with accents of white and silver.

Our kitchen has an interesting palette that I chose from a magazine holder I bought that I thought was a surprisingly attractive color combo of buttercup yellow and gray.
For the bedroom I chose black and a very dark yet bright purple.
And our bathroom is a soothing mint green that I based off of a basket that I decorated.

And lastly on the inside of the house is me and my husbands office. I let him pick the colors.
This is my desk. My eyes finally adjusted to orange. We did do a little work to the outside as well.
Our fire pit has already seen a few fun nights. And lastly our house has had a few issues.
Our basement tends to flood and...
Our yard has several Black Walnut trees, which I would never dare to cut down.
They are rare compared to English Walnuts and have a different flavor.
I grew up with them and love the memories.

                             Tank is growing fast

She has gained quite a quirky personality.

                   Launching Lily Rose Weddings

In the late spring early summer I started the process of starting my own business. I was joined by my best friend Tammy and our friend Kristin. Things got off to a fairly quick start. Shortly after making our facebook page and publishing our website we had our first client. We were off and running.

The bride Amanda contacted us in August. She had a small budget, wanted the date to be set for 2 months from then and also wanted to surprise guests with the fact that it was a wedding. It was definitely a challenge but I am glad we had that as our first wedding. Because if we could make it work then I knew we could do this and the business was worth it. So we made invitations for a October 19th "Fall Family BBQ" and made almost everything. There were a lot of late nights and early mornings but in the end it was well worth it. We made it happen and the bride and groom were very happy with our work.

I can't for more weddings to get planned and designed by our company. It has been a great ride so far.
See you all soon. Bye!
