January Ipsy Review 2013

Hello.
     Here is my preview of my first Ipsy bag of 2013:

1. Dark Blue Bag- I will most likely use this.

2. Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer in Bloody Mary- I already have tons of red hued nail polish so my feeling towards this is meh.

3. Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil- Eh... OK I guess I will give it a whirl.

4. Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter- Smells good.

5. Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play Volumizing Hair Spray- I have always wanted to try this product out but never bought it because of the price.

6. Soho Eyeliner Brush- Could always use more brushes I guess.


I am more or less just as disappointed with this months Ipsy as I am this months Birchbox...

January Birchbox Preview 2013

Hello.
     So I got my Birchbox last week. I hadn't really had too much of a chance to go through it or give it that much attention until now. So here it is, my first BirchBox of the new year:

1. Deborah Lippmann the Stripper to go- Nail polish mitt huh? we'll see
2. theBalm Cosmetics Hot Mama Shadow and Blush all in one- I have fallen in love with the Balm so I have high hopes for this one.
3. My Multi-Purpose Mattifying Moisturizer- I could always use a good moisturizer.
4. Amika Color PHerfection Shampoo- Hopefully it works.
5. Harvey Prince Skinny Chic Perfume- I think the name is a bit offensive, as if curvy girls can't be chic.

Other than theBalm Hot Mama I am not to thrilled about this box. We will see what happens when I test the stuff out.

As a cashier and clerk my hands were often dry and in the winter they were even worse. I have had the hand cream for a few weeks and it has truly worked wonders on my hands, nails and skin. Just one dab repairs 6 signs of damage: dryness, chapping, splitting nails, dry cuticles, scaliness and roughness. It is the first hand cream to heal with concentrated glycerin. It is a recipient on a 2012 Good Housekeeping Seal Award.

It is a wonderful product. I hope you give it a try.

December Ipsy Review

Hello.
     I finally have my Ipsy review.
December was:

1. Gunmetal Gray Satin Bag- I really love the bag. It suites my style. I also loved the lining. I normally hate pink but the surprise pop of color was nice. I have such a growing purse and bag collection. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

2. NYX Loose Pearl Shadow in Charcoal- I am already a big NYX fan. I don't usually use loose powders, I am not comfortable with them yet. I almost always make a mess. I was pleased when I seemed to do okay this time around. I love the color, although it looks a little olive to me. It went on evenly and smoothly. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

3. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero- I actually already had this item. I bought it at sephora. But it was almost gone so I loved getting a new one. I always get a perfect line. This is my favorite eye liner. There is actually a better example of the liner in the picture I have for NYX. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

4. Mai Couture Highlighter Paper- I really liked this. It not only gave me a gold shimmer but also removed the oil from my face. I wore it for New Year's Eve. You can click on the image for a larger view. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

5. Mirabella Prime for Face and Eyes- This kept my make up on all night and blended invisible into my skin. I love it. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

6. Be A Bombshell Lip Gloss in Hot Mess- I love that this was a sheer red. It looked really good. It was just slightly sticky but over all I loved it. I give this product a 4 out of 5.

Limited Bonus Item: Urban Decay Naked Skin Beauty Balm- I received this item as a random bonus. It went on smooth and looked really good on my skin. Almost completely invisible other than a very sheer tint. My skin appeared a lot healthier. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

December Birchbox Review

Hello.
     I finally got around to reviewing my December Birchbox. I am going to try and get a blog schedule going so my blogs are more spread out. But anyways, here is my review.

The box looked cool this month. I like when they do something different. I promptly used the gift tag so that came in handy, however even though the $50.00 Rent the runway card was nice they dont really carry plus sizes so I didn't use it.

1. Number 4 Clarifying Shampoo- I LOVED the way this smells. But I didn't like the texture. It felt like I was putting honey in my hair. Plus my hair felt dried out after. I give this product a 2 out of 5.

2. Per-fekt Beauty Lash Perfection Gel-  I liked this on my lashes. I didn't cake on. It made my lashes appear naturally thicker and not like I had something on them. I give this product a 4 out of 5.

3. Juicy Couture Perfume- Is it just me or is it impossible to hate there scents? I seem to always love Juicy Couture's Perfumes. They smells so great. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

4. Frownies Eye Gels- Maybe it's just me but... They didn't seem to do anything. I give this product a 0 out of 5.

5. Tea Forte Skin Smart Teas- I received Cucumber Mint, Cherry Marzipan and Honey Yuzu. I liked the Cherry Marzipan but my favorite was Cucumber Mint. It reminded me of this brand of mint water that I really love called Metro mint.  give this product a 5 out of 5.

All in all I would have preferred different stuff. I am getting kind of bored of getting perfume samples all the time.

Influenster's Holiday Vox Box 2012 Review

Hello.
     I have finally tested all the products from the Holiday Vox Box 2012* that I had mentioned last month. I loved some of the stuff and didn't care for others.

1. NYC New York Color Liquid Lipshine in Nude York City- I thought for sure that I wasn't going to like it. But I love it. The nude is sheer so it looks awesome! I give this product a 5 out of 5.

2. EBoost in Pink Lemonade- I had tried the orange from a birchbox I had gotten a while back and like it so I assumed I would like this one as well. I didn't. I give this product a 2 out of 5.

3. Kiss Nail Dress in Baby Doll- I did not like the design these came in and they were a pain to file because of the gems and didn't stay on. I give this product a 1 out of 5.

4. Montagne Jeunesse Mud Mask- I loved this. I work wonders on my skin and it is so cheap. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

5. Quaker Real Medleys in Apple & Walnut Oatmeal- I don't really like oatmeal so it was no surprise that I didn't like this one. I give this product a 1 out of 5.

6. Goody Quik Style Half Round Brush- It worked well but not to great. I am sure it's because my hair is short. i give this product a 3 out of 5.

7. Sole Society- Unfortunately I was unable to use the code that influenster gave me. I am too broke from Christmas. :(
