Learning new things about my polish culture with Dino Lingo

Hello!

One of my side projects for this coming year is get more in touch with my culture and heritage on my mother's side. For most of my life I have embraced my father's culture with ease. My father was Cherokee Indian and I have always loved and connected with that part of my ancestry but I also feel like I have neglected that part of me from my mother. Though when you look at me you can see my mother's genes more than my dad's. My mother is of Scottish and Polish ancestry. Don't get me wrong I am not completely oblivious about my Polish and Scottish heritage I just feel like I should know more, embrace it more. I am lucky enough to be a member of influenster which allows me to try amazing new things. Well this week I was notified of a language aid called Dino Lingo. I watched the video for Dino Lingo Polish and I am excited to learn one of the languages of my ancestors. The clip is only a few minutes long but has ignited the spark to want to learn in me. Review: November Ipsy 2012

Hello,
I had some free time today after work so I tried all of the products in my November Ipsy Bag.
I have to say, I am a little disappointed with this months bag. But that's life and it will go on.

This month's bag was called

1. Dark Brown Bag with Gold Zipper-  I don't like brown so this is kind of a bummer for me. I am going to give it to someone as a gift. So at least there is some use for it. I give this product a 1 out of 5.

2. theBalm Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow Palette in Matt Batali- I loved this. The color is definitely something I would buy. It is perfect for a smokey effect. It went on really well. I only put on a thin layer and it looked great.  love it. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

3. Starlet Cosmetics Intense Eyeliner in Black- I loved the packaging. Especially the little quip on the pencil it's self "Black, the total absence of light". But that is the only thing I liked. It didn't really go on that easy. I had to press down pretty hard and that caused little bits to flake off. I definitely have had better pencil liners. I give this product a 1 out of 5.

4. Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Millionaire- I already knew I was not going to like this product. But I thought I would give it a try. Let me first say I would never buy this. Not only was it way to tacky and gaudy but even after I put a couple layers of top coat on my nails they still caught on everything my hand came in contact with. It would have been okay with just the glitter in it but the confetti like pieces were just to much. I feel like I picked Ke$ha's boogers, sick. I give this product a 0 out of 5.

5. bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in Dare Devil- To my surprise I really liked this lip gloss. Looks can be deceiving. I thought this was going to be dark and plummy but it went on pretty sheer just leaving a bit of a tint behind. I really like it on me. (ignore my lip ring hole in the pic above lol) I give this product a 4 out of 5.

6. Chella Defining Eyebrow Gel- This didn't really do much to my eyebrow compared to it's natural state. I guess if I woke up after sleeping on my face funny and my eyebrow hair was looking crazy this might come in handy but other than that it was kind of pointless. I give this product a 1 out of 5.

November Ipsy: 2012

Hello all!
My November Ipsy arrived a few days ago. Here is the pic of it and my first initial thoughts about the stuff in it.

1. Chocolate Brown Bag with Gold Zipper- Meh. I am not a big fan of brown.

2. theBalm Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow Palette in Matt Batali- This color is right up my alley, can't wait to try it out.

3. Starlet Intense Eyeliner- You can never have enough black eye liner I guess

4. Nailtini Nail Lacquer in Millionaire- Um, I am not a Drag Queen.

5. Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in Dare Devil- Okay, I am willing to give it a try.

6. Chella Defining Eyebrow Gel- This might come in handy since I have a lot of eyebrow to deal with.


Well that's it for now. I will try and have a review for you next week as well as better pics of each individual item.

Review: October Ipsy My Glam bag

October's Bag:

1. Black & White Zig Zag Bag with Red Trim- Eeek! This bag is awesome! I love it. It is the perfect style, colors and design. I think it suits me quite well. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

2. Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment- I love it. I used it right away. I dye and straighten my hair with a flat iron quite often so my hair is damaged. It worked well on my hair and didn't leave it looking greasy. I give this product a 4 out of 5.

3. Mirenesse Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain in #2- To say I was nervous when I saw this super bright red is a understatement. I loved the slick gloss texture. It reminded me of vinyl. After wearing it for 20 minutes I actually started to like it. It is not something I would wear everyday but I like it. Also after you wipe it of it leaves a light stain. I give this product a 3 out of 5.

4. Coastal Scents Eye Shadow in set #8 (Vibrant blue, Deep Eggplant, Candlelight, Elven Midnight)- I like the way this color combo turned out. They are really high quality. These colors are very bold which I like. I love to play up my eyes, these colors make my eyes pop. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

5. Be A Bombshell Eye Liner in Onyx- I was excited to use this but I had to keep going over the line I drew and add several layers. I don't know if it is just a little dried out or what but I have had better eye liners. I wish I could say I like this more but I can't. A picture of it is going to be below with my mascara review. I give this product a 2 out of 5.

6. theBalm Cosmetics What's Your Type? "the body builder" Mascara- I sleep face down sometimes which cause my eye lashes straighten. I loved that this mascara seemed to curl them a little. Plus I love that it's a very deep black. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

Review: October Birchbox

Hello,
     I hope everyone had a good Halloween. I have decided that from now on I will include pictures of me using the products I am reviewing (when able) especially with the makeup. So without further ado...

1. Mox Botanicals Lip Butter- I really loved this. It made my lips so smooth. I am prone to chapped lips and I thought this really helped. Plus it smells good too! I give this product a 5 out of 5.

2. Benta Berry G-1 Moisturizing Face Cream- I loved it. I have dry patches on my cheeks and jaw line. This made my skin nice and soft. It didn't leave my skin feeling heavy or caked like some creams do. This was nice and light. I give this product a 5 out of 5.

3. Harvey Prince Hello- I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way this smells! I have trouble finding perfumes that I like because they often induce headaches so a lot of time I end up liking cologne more. But I love this one so much. It almost smells like apples to me. It lasted a long time too. I give this product a 5 out of 5!!! (putting more on now)

4. Luna Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter- I was a little hesitant to try this at first because I am not a huge fan of peanut butter and a lot of protein bars leave a weird taste in your mouth. However, it does not taste that much like peanut butter at all and it did not leave a bitter taste either. I actually quite enjoyed it. I think I may pick some up next time I go grocery shopping. I give this product a 4 out of 5.

5. theBalm Cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer- I had a hunch I was going to love this one before I even put it on. I was right. It came in a cute package that has a magnetic closure. It went on sheer with a gold shimmer. I absolutely adore it. It went on very easy too. A lot goes a long way, I barely had any on my brush and it was plenty to cover my whole lid from lash to brow. <3 I give this product a 5 out of 5.
